NSJF Congress 06: Inauguration Ceremony
The inauguration ceremony of Nepal Sports Journalists Association (NSJF)’s Fourth Congress was held at the Department of Information, Sanchargram.
Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ) president Bishnu Nisthuri was the chief guest of the inauguration while the guest lineup included acting member-secretary of National Sports Council (NSC) Ajar Manandhar, NSC member Laxman Shrestha, All Nepal Football Association president Ganesh Thapa, Cricket Association of Nepal president Binaya Raj Pandey and other sports dignitaries.
Nisthuri praised NSJF as one of the most active branch among 84 branches of FNJ and thanked for the support NSJF had provided to FNJ.
Manandhar hoped that NSJF would continue performing its role for the development of sports and said that he was impressed by the role NSJF played during Nepal’s participation in the Tenth South Asian Games in Sri Lanka.
Shrestha wished good luck and requested NSJF to unite all the sports journalists while Kumar Bahadur Karki, the general secretary of Nepal National and International Players Association said that NSJF had been playing a good role in development of sports.
Thapa hoped that NSJF would choose the right leadership for unity and said that ANFA is always ready to support NSJF.
Pandey thanked sports press for the better coverage of sports and said that all sports association require press support including fair criticism for the development of the game.
Outgoing NSJF general secretary Hemanta Kafle and president Niranjan Rajbanshi also spoke on the ceremony.
