LG to Continue as PoY Title Sponsor
LG will be the title sponsor of the Player of the Year Awards for the second year as Nepal Sports Journalists Forum (NSJF) signed an agreement with the LG Electronics of Chaudhary Group on Sunday amidst a ceremony.

NSJF president Niranjan Rajbanshi and Senior Marketing Manager of LG Ramesh Shrestha signed the agreement at the Direction Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC).
According to the agreement, LG will provide Rs 300,000 in cash and kind for the mega event scheduled at the Birendra International Convention Centre for August 20. Last year, LG provided one-third of that to become the title sponsor.
Meanwhile, NSJF announced that there would be an added category this year. NSJF general secretary Hemanta Raj Kafle said: “We have included the sixth category — Special Award for a player or a team for their remarkable and unique achievements.”
Last year, NSJF had honored five sportsperson — Player of the Year Male, Player of the Year Female, Player of the Year Youth, Coach of the Year and Lifetime Achievement Award.
“The winners of all the six categories will get a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and a LG Dynamite mobile set worth Rs 15,000 along with gift hampers from ATTSH among others,” said Rajbanshi.

Rajbanshi also said the organizer would soon announce five nominations for each category in a week time. A five member selection committee formed under secretary Mahesh Acharya has been given the responsibility of nominations.
The award ceremony, to be graced by International Sports Press Association (AIPS) president Gianni Merlo, will be aired live on Nepal Television. The estimated budget of the ceremony is Rs 950,000.

NSJF Supports Football Academy

NSJF President Niranjan Rajbanshi hands over jerseys to former national captain Upendra Man Singh in presense of other sports journalists.
Nepal Sports Journalists Forum (NSJF) handed over 20 jersey sets to the football academy being run by the Madhyapur Youth Association on June 13 as the gesture of appreciation of the work being done by MYA to promote football.
The jersey sets, originally provided to NSJF by the organizing committee of Coca Cola Cup Inter-School Football Tournament 2007 during the Coca Cola Football Festival at Tundikhel were handed over to former national captain and MYA president Upendra Man Singh by NSJF president Nirajan Rajbanshi.
MYA has been running a football training center for 300 trainees for five months now.
